The ideals of the Women's Institute of truth, justice tolerance and fellowship are as strong and important as when first founded, it exists to educate women to enable them to provide an effective role in the community, to expand their horizons and to develop and pass on important skills. The W I was formed in Flamborough in 1941 and has continued to flourish, the members enjoying being part of the National Federation of Women's Institutes and the local East Yorkshire Federation. One of the founder members Dorothy Waines, is still an active member and attends as many meetings as she is able. The meetings are held in the W I Hall, which looks on to the Village Green in Flamborough at 7pm on the third Tuesday of each month and lasts 2 to 2½hrs, with many interesting speakers, demonstrations and information about local and national affairs. IF YOU WANT FUN AND FRIENDSHIP, LAUGHTER AND LEARNING WHY NOT LOOK IN ON ONE OF OUR MEETINGS. For more information phone Margaret 01262 851074 or Joan 01262 850916. Script and information by: ...
