2. Gathering Visitor Information

Whilst visiting the FlamborouhUK.net website, the pages you see, along with a 'cookie' (a short text file), are downloaded to your computer. Most websites do this, because cookies enable website creators to find out whether you have visited the website before and what pages you look at. This is done on repeated visits by checking if the cookie has been left there on previous visits.

Claranet, our Internet Service Provider, gathers non-personal information relating to the visitors to our website on our behalf using cookies and log file data. FCEAG uses this type of information to improve services and help obtain a better ranking for the website.

3. An Explanation of a Cookie

A cookie is a small text file, which can include an anonymous unique identifier which is downloaded from the website through your browser and is stored on the hard drive of your computer. A website can send its own cookie to your browser (if you have the option turned on), but that website can only access cookies it has sent to you and not other cookies on your computer.

The cookie records your personal preferences on that website. You have the option to set your browser to accept cookies, reject cookies or prompt when a cookie is issued. If you have set your browser to reject cookies then some services might not function properly. As there are many browser types available, it is suggested you check the help section of your browser to see how it can handle cookies.

Even if you have turned off acceptance of cookies, you may still browse this website anonymously, until such time as you wish to access some of the services. If you would like more information on cookies please visit http://www.aboutcookies.org.
